DMCA Policy
MC Skin Editor respects intellectual property rights. If you believe content on our site โ specifically a skin in our public gallery โ infringes your copyright, you can file a takedown request.
What qualifies for a DMCA takedown
A valid claim is one where someone uploaded a skin that copies your original work (an original skin design you created) without your permission.
We don't accept takedown requests for:
- Fan-made skins inspired by game characters, movies, or other media โ these typically fall under fair use for a non-commercial game accessory
- Generic skin templates or common design elements that aren't original creative works
- Skins you dislike but don't actually own the copyright to
How to file a request
Send an email to admin@mcskineditor.net with the subject line "DMCA Takedown Request" and include:
- A description of the copyrighted work you believe was infringed
- The URL of the infringing skin on our site
- Your contact information (name, address, email)
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner
- A statement that the information in your request is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf
What happens after you file
We'll review the request within 5 business days. If it meets the criteria, we'll remove the content and notify the uploader. If the uploader believes the takedown was in error, they can file a counter-notice.
Counter-notice
If your skin was removed and you believe the takedown was incorrect, email us at admin@mcskineditor.net with "DMCA Counter-Notice" in the subject. Include your contact information, the URL of the removed content, and an explanation of why you believe the removal was mistaken.
We will restore removed content after 10โ14 business days unless the original claimant files for a court order.
Repeat infringers
Accounts or IP addresses that repeatedly upload infringing content will be blocked from the gallery.
